COZUMEL is less than USA TO livehttps://youtu.be/vOtfA65qYVE

I’ve been asked many times about our living expenses here in Cozumel compared to Texas and the U S in general. So I’ve spent a few days researching that. With the exception of gas, and some private schools, it is much less expensive here in Mexico. However, Cozumel is one of the more expensive places to live in Mexico. In other non tourist oriented areas it’s even less expensive. Everyone’s experience is probably a bit different, but this is what I found. All prices are in U S dollars for simplicity. I don’t want to confuse anyone with 2 currencies. The current exchange rate is about 17.1 pesos to 1 U S dollar. These are average prices but of course it varies.

FYI – Public transportation in Mexico is cheap, reliable, and available city to city or within a city. Many people here don’t have cars and public transportation is reliable because it has to be. The buses are clean, comfortable, and air conditioned. Buses between cities have bathrooms and include a movie.
